Aliki PAPPA​

Aliki Pappa was born in Athens in 1982. In 2004, she graduated from the Department of Theatre Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Faculty of Philosophy. She then studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts, in the 7th painting workshop, under the guidance of Professor Giannis Psychopaidis. At the same time, she attended the sculpture workshop at the ASFA with Professor Nikos Tranos. During her studies, she was awarded the IKY scholarship twice (2006-2007, 2007-2008), as well as the IKY prize for the period 2005-2006, 2006-2007. She graduated with honors in 2010. She has worked as a set and costume designer with theatre groups and has taught in primary education. Since 2009, she has been teaching Free Drawing and painting to children. From 2007 until today, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, and in 2012, she held her first solo exhibition titled Leaving Room at the Kappatos Art Gallery in Athens.In 2024, Alice Pappa participated in the "Heart of Darkness" exhibition with Nikos Seppezoglou at Galerie 3 Portes.


In Aliki Pappa's black-and-white works, night falls fast. Strange scenes, disturbing figures and hybrid creatures emerge from her imagination, which lies halfway between fantasy and surrealism. In a timeless setting, we are invited to explore the depths of the medium: the drawing becomes a space of transformation.
